Jennifer Lopez has been savaged by fans over her cringe-worthy opening performance at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas on Monday — after she kissed both male and female dancers live on air.
The 55-year-old Bronx-bred singer-actress — who is single after her high-profile divorce from Ben Affleck — hosted the CBS live event at the Fontainebleau hotel and kicked off the night by singing and dancing to a six-minute medley of 23 hits by the evenings nominees.
While most A-list celebrities including Taylor Swift skipped the event, JLo did her best to single-handedly bring the star power by performing hits including Billie Eilishs Birds of a Feather, Sabrina Carpenters Espresso, and Beyoncés Texas Hold Em.
But she left viewers cringing over the disgusting lip-locking session with her dancers, with some branding it a desperate attempt to make Affleck jealous following their finalized dissolution of their two-year marriage four months ago.
Others blasted her for going too far with her girl-on-girl kiss, with one X user declaring: Jennifer Lopez has lost the plot.

She then transitioned into a medley of viral hits from the past year, including Chappell Roan‘s HOT TO GO, Morgan Wallen and Post Malone‘s I Had Some Help, and Tinashe‘s Nasty.
The 51st American Music Awards are being held at the Fontainebleau hotel located in the heart of Las Vegas on Memorial Day.
Lopez is taking on hosting duties for this years ceremony, which comes a decade after she first hosted in 2015.
One of her glamorous looks of the evening was a beaded silver dress with a halter neck design.
She draped an aqua-blue jewel-toned cape over it, wearing it falling off her shoulders as the floral-embroidered number fell at her feet.

Winners of the night included 23-year-old Billie, who took home the coveted Artist of the Year top prize.
She beat out Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Wallen and Zack Bryan.

Thats So True singer Gracie Abrams won of New Artist of the Year, and she also sent a recorded video from a location on tour to accept her honor.
She thanked her fans, whom she said shes been lucky enough to learn from.

Meanwhile, SZA took home AMA accolades for Best Female R&B Artist and Best R&B Song for Saturn.
And Becky G celebrated being named Favorite Female Latin Artist.

It was announced in early April that JLo had signed on for the hosting gig.

The 2025 AMAs are airing live on CBS, and fans can also stream the awards show on Paramount+ in the US.
This year marks the first time the awards show will be shown on CBS, after being aired on ABC since 1974.
Haddish wore a hooded, plunging blue dress and made a crack about JLo and Bens divorce while presenting.
The 45-year-old comedic actress praised the Waiting for Tonight hitmaker as she stated, Our host just danced to 23 hits in six minutes. Just from that opening number alone, Jenny From the Block got all her steps in for the day.

Lopezs divorce from Affleck was finalized in January, following her August 2024 filing.
The exes tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, followed by a formal wedding in Georgia in August.
They were previously engaged in 2002 but called off the wedding in 2003 before Lopez went on to marry Marc Anthony, and Affleck Jennifer Garner.
The Get Right singer rocked a total of eight hours throughout the star-studded show.
